Fertan Tapox gasoline tank treatment: after curing it forms a layer that is extremely resistant to all fuels, alkalis and many acids. Steel fuel tanks have the characteristic of rusting over time: in the years when leaded gasoline was still used, the problem was very small. Today, with unleaded gasoline, the rusting process is much faster.Unfortunately, modern fuels, even blends, are very aggressive to the point that steel tanks, and even if filled, corrode. The cause is probably the MTBE (methylbenzene) added to modern fuels to increase the anti-knock properties of gasoline on the market from 2003 onward. The only remedy is a special two-component fuel-resistant inner coating such as Fertan Tapox. Tapox is used for interior coating of tanks such as: steel and aluminum fuel tanks, petroleum and fuel oil tanks, ship ballast tanks, water tanks, etc. The kit comes complete with the required amount of TX-10 catalyst.
